Beligerant gas station owner/attendant

my name is roy smith. last night at approximately 10 pm my wife and i were traveling non-stop by car from pensacola, florida to our residence in temple, texas. we stopped at an exxon gas station/convenience store just as we crossed the state line from louisiana into texas. my wife gassed up the car while i used the restroom facilities. in the men's room the urinal had leaked water and i actually had to stand in water to utilize the urinal. when i came back out into the store i told the foreigner (my guess would be middle eastern), he barely spoke english, about the condition of the restroom. he kept repeating "i clean (before?),maybe tobacco stop". i was only trying to be a good consumer by informing him of the aforementioned condition of his restroom. he was wearing a shirt with the exxon logo on it . he actually became abusive and beligerant and demanded "leave my place". i asked his name and or store number and he refused and as i was leaving i felt that he meant me bodily harm because he made motions of coming from behind the counter to get me. i hurried to the car and fortunately my wife had just finished the car gassing process. she had used a credit car to use the pump and i thought we should leave immediately since i didn't know what this *** had in mind. the pump would not give her a receipt so i have no other information to give you other than what i have written already. i now know why exxonmobil has such a lousy public image. my name is roy smith, 4610 stonehaven drive, temple, texas 76502. phone (for what it's worth) is 254.231.3688. e- mail swampsmith@***.com. this occurance was 7/5/11 @ the time listed above. i fully expect never to be contacted regarding this issue, but i wanted "someone" to know.

ATTEMPTED THEFT BY DECEPTION

Highland Springs Mobil 300 S. Highland Springs Ave Banning, CA 92220 951-769-**** Exxon/Mobil... Your employee, "Miguel" has horrible customer service. Today is not the first time I've observed it. However, I'm irate that my personal information is in your system because although I am a veteran, consumer and AAA member, he attempted to charge me in excess of $59.00 for an oil change instead of the $19.99 as advertised. I inquired, why the $40.00 increase and he retorted, "oil fees and taxes". I stepped away and called my regular mechanic who will do it for $35.00. I instructed Miguel to cancel my service order and he then said that he would do it for $22.00. He mistakenly input Mobil 1 synthetic oil in the order. My truck doesn't use synthetic oil. That would have been a disaster. Although, I believe your undercover thief should be fired, I suggest you send undercover Exxon/Mobil executives of several races to pretend to be customers and gain a clear perspective on what degenerates are representing your company.

Oil price down yesterday, gas price up today, why ?

Why, since oil went down we were told gas prices would go down, but instead they are going up, is anyone smart enough to explain to me why, so I will understand and not be so pissed off. I feel like I am being robbed and nothing I can do about it, I can't believe my country would let this happen to me, PLEASE EXPLAIN!!!! Is there someone else I need to talk to, if so please tell me who and how to contact them. If I can't find some relief from these prices I'll go broke, I have to work for my money, I don't feel right stealing it like the people responsible for these prices.

But, when oil prices go up we see gas prices go up immediately, there are no few weeks involved, do you not know a screwing when you get one?

Guest

Yes oil has gone down in the last few days. However, the oil sold today will not be at the gas station tomorrow.

This can take weeks.

As long as oil continues to go down gas prices will follow in a few weeks. You cannot expect immediate responses.

How dare you question my credit?!?!?!

I was filling up (hwy 620 in Austin) and wanted to get cigarettes too so walked in and asked the cashier for a fillup and 2 packs of cigarettes and handed my credit card. He had the nerve to state "it's going to work, right?" I let him know I was quite offended and that was highly inappropriate. He tried to justify his comment and I told him not to and to please talk to his manager about it. When he argued again I assured him I would talk to his manager and corporate for him. I am 41, own 2 homes, have a kid in college and don't really need this puny little man questioning my ability to pay for gasoline. Grrrrrr

Exxon Steals Cash when Car Wash Fails

So my sister and I go to the Exxon station located at 5420 North MacArthur Lane in Irving, Texas because it has a car wash. My brand new truck is dirty and we are in a rush to get it clean before going to pick up a family member at D/FW Airport. It is 11:30pm on a Friday night and I go inside and put down $24 cash on the counter (the clerk, name of Dawn, would not take my $100 bill saying she could not make change of any kind) and so I get $18 worth of gas and get a code for a $6 car wash. Drive to the car wash, put in the code, green light comes on indicating to move forward to inside the wash bay, green light turns off and there we sit...nothing is happening...a red sign then lights up saying "Car Wash Not Ready" and there we sit some more...nothing, and it becomes obvious that the car wash has malfunctioned. So, I pull my truck back to the Exxon Station "office" and tell Dawn to please give me another code because the car wash did not work, even inviting her to look at my dry & dirty truck as proof. and what does Dawn say, "I am not authorized to refund your money or give you another code for the car wash !" Dawn tells me that the following Monday her Manager, named Fran, will have to talk to me. Can you believe this BS! Exxon, a company booking billions of dollars in profits, basically steals my cash right out of my pocket for a car wash that malfunctioned, and then one of their employees tells me she will do nothing to correct the problem. Moral to this story, pay for an Exxon car wash at risk of being completely ripped off!

Rude clerk Exxon Dallas TX Preston & Royal

The clerk was so rude, I went in the store for a lottery ticket after getting gas and he said he had to see my ID before he would sell to me, I went to my car and got my purse and showed him my ID, then he said I had to take it out of the wallet and said he would not sell to me because he thought the ID was a scam, I am 34 years old for goodness sake, its not like he was selling alcohol or cigarettes it was only a lotto ticket, he would not have spoken to me so rudely if I had been a man, Exxon really needs to make their employees watch customer service videos, they have lost my business for all 4 of my cars and I will make sure all my neighbors know how poorly I was treated!

Cursed out by Clerk

I had the worst service from an Exxon Franchise in Gainesville, VA. The car wash broke and I was at the front of the line with 20 cars behind me. "Marco" inside the store as the Exxon employee yelled, cursed at, and hung up on me. Told me he was the only person working so I could go and do whatever I had to do, but the manager would take his side. I went back and forth inside the store after he assured me the was was working. WRONG. He continued to act like an *** and treated me like a dirtbag.

Exxon- No turnover on bakery items

My husband and I were meeting some friends and picked up a bag of powdered donuts from to take for everyone to have. On our way I went ahead and opened them up to find spore-like mold covering all the donuts as well as what looked like little gnats, dead and alive, flying around inside. I checked the date and sure enough, it should've been pulled from shelves months ago. I would've turned around and showed them what I was sold but we were already late. I understand these things happen but theres no reason for a small convenience store to not turn over their products better than that.

Exxon/Citigroup unwilling to help consumers

Exxon Mobil credit card company is unwilling to help the consumer if they reject a change of terms agreement. I rejected a new change of terms that exxon sent out to raise my interest rate (which I believe they did due to the consumer credit card bill of rights being passed by the Federal government). I am trying to pay off my credit cards and did not need a larger amount to pay off. When I rejected the change of terms, I was told I would have to close my account in order to not have my interest rate increased. I spoke to a man in customer service to do this and was told information about closing the account. Nothing was mentioned that my minimum payment would be over triple what I had been paying in the previous months. I called the company discuss the situation since I did not have $300 to pay the minimum payment (for at least the previous 6 months the monthly minimum due was around $85 to $90). I was told that the increase of the minimum due was because I was over the limit (which had been this way for at least the last 6 months and no additional fees were assessed) and rejected the change of terms which closed the account. My credit limit was $2600 but they allowed us to charge up to $3200 when gas prices where almost $4 a gallon. I told the representative that I could not possibly pay the $300 they were requiring for the minimum payment. I told them that I had made a payment for $159 online today and needed to make payment arrangements since I could not pay the total amount due. I was told by the representative that there was nothing they could do except put me on a payment plan of $370 a month for 6 months. She also said that since my account was only 6 days past due that was not long enough for them to offer me any other help and/or programs to help make the minimum payment to where I could pay it. Basically, I am being punished for paying my bills, trying to set up a payment plan so that I could continue paying my bills, and for rejecting the change of terms. I will never do business with Exxon Mobil and Citigroup and will make sure to let everyone I know how this company treats their comsumers-at least the ones that are willing to pay their bills every month. I would appreciate hearing from anyone else that has been taken advantage of for any situation like this. Consumers are being taken advantage of for the new bill of rights, paying their bills, and as taxpayers having to pay twice-once to pay their bill and then paying their taxes to bail out all of these corporations that made bad investments and did not manage their funds correctly.

Rising gas prices

I am a Knoxville resident and am disturbed at the rising gasoline prices.  I don't know how many of you know that over the weekend following hurricane Ike that Knoxville led  with the highest gas prices in the NATION!!  My concern isn't just for the east Tennessee area, but for everyone in the USA. How could they sell the gasoline they already had on site (filling stations)  at a higher price because of the weather system.  I figured if it's on site, then it's already paid for.  Sounds like the American people need to speak up and request an inquiry into the matter of price gouging on a state level and hopefully it will gain national notice and we can get something done!! Hey Versed in economics, no one is *** about big oil making a profit, everyone in business is there for profit. There is a difference in making a profit and making a killing. All major oil companys combined made over $379,000,000.00 per day profit for the month of April, 2011, that's $46,000,000,000.00 ($46 billion) total profit for the month. If you think this is fair then I would bet that the rest of America will agree that YOU'RE the ***.

Guest

The retailer can charge whatever he wants for gas. In storm situations, retailers don't know when their next load is coming but still have to pay the rent weekly.

Therefore, they make up for it by selling existing inventory at a higher price. The solution is simple -- if the price is too high, don't buy it.

Guest

Brian, you said "I figured if it's on site, then it's already paid for. Sounds like the American people need to speak up and request an inquiry into the matter of price gouging".

My statements were to that effect.

Yes, I do see a problem with it and the problem is not on the local level with the local retailer (as you inferred in your statement). A better remark in the beginning by you would have been the second one you made with the speculators.

You said "Next your going to tell me we cannot wean ourselves off foreign oil and provide for ourselves through all means available. Sounds like your the ***, or you work for our government." No. I do not work for government and do not put words into my mouth. The current US Government is a big part of the problem with taxes and foreign policy. I do believe we can and must free ourselves from foreign oil and that means drill here and quit hem-hawing around and do it now. Alternatives can be developed as we go and eventually ween ourselves off oil as a means of transportation.

I do something about it in the form of communications between elected official in my community, my State, and my Federal Government and they constantly hear from me about taxes, over-regulation, and more. A part of the problem is the uneducated, ill informed public who rant and rave about "they are price gouging". Your getting closer, Brian, with the remark about the speculators. Dig a little deeper and you will find the problem and the solution will also reside there.

In response to "***": you speak of that which you know nothing of. The name fits.

Guest

To versed in economics, and you see no problem with this? People like you are the problem!!

Happily bending over and asking for more and then defending their actions.

No I don't want to punish "big oil", but think on this. They can only get away with what's allowed. Time to search for another solution and get rid of "speculators" who do nothing but drive up the cost even more.

Next your going to tell me we cannot wean ourselves off foreign oil and provide for ourselves through all means available. Sounds like your the ***, or you work for our government.

Guest

The person that wrote the above can't have too much between the ears and probably pays retail for automobiles!!! Or works for the gas industry!!!

Guest

Alright. I'll ***. For those of you who can't figure out simple economics in business ownership, allow me to give you a REALLY SIMPLE crash course.

Lets say you have 4.00 in your pocket and your going to go into business for yourself. You have a one gallon gas can in your garage. Wow, what an idea...you go buy a gallon of gas (for 4.00) and go stand on the street corner. Follow me so far? Good.

Somebody comes along and buys this gallon of gas from you for 5.00. Wow, a whole one dollar profit. Quick, go back to the gas station for another gallon. Only this time, the gas station tells you that on your next trip gas is going to cost you 6.00 a gallon instead of 4.00. Well, you just paid 4.00 a gallon for gas and you know that if you sell that gallon of gas at 4.00, you won't be able to go back and buy another gallon. (Remember, you only had 4.00 to start with and only made 1.00 so far which equals what? $5.00. Good, stay with me).

What are you going to do? Are you going to increase the price of the gas you just bought in order to ensure you have enough to buy the next gallon? Of course you are. Now, your going to charge 6.00 for the gallon of gas you paid 4.00 for.

How *** are we getting in America when we can't understand something so simple...let me guess, you want to punish "big oil"?

Idiots.

Lectured My Children When Buying Milk & Candy

I have just had a disgusting experience at the West Acton MA gas station – June 16th at 4:30pm. After being a Speedpass member and Mobil customer for years, the last thing I need is a grumpy old man behind the counter lecturing my children on manners, and suggesting to me ways to better manage my children. The attendant accused my 8 & 10 yr old boys of "throwing" money on the counter when they purchased milk and candy. He needs to get out of retail quickly as he has no business lecturing children that are not his, or advising customers about their children’s manners. My boys are impeccably behaved and I resent any inference from a service station attendant to the contrary.

Exxon Employee Nasty!

I went to the ExxonMobil Station on Rt 206 in Stanhope, NJ. I asked for $25 regular unleaded. The employee I thought repeated to me $25? I said, yes. I gave him my credit card when it was done and he said, "you said yes when I asked if it was cash". I told him I was sorry, I misunderstood him. He then got another employer who came over to tell me, with an attitude, that I'd have to go inside to pay since I said yes to cash but it was credit. I could not believe employees could be so nasty until I met the woman behind the register who berated me, yelled at me and told me she has 300 customers a day and they never have a problem understanding the employee. I wrote to Exxon and naturally got no response. They are too busy living off of all the money we have to pay them to fill up our tanks.
